Panorama
I love the panoramic views. They magnify the view if you have the right subjects in them. After gaining some knowledge to shoot panoramas and stitch them perfectly, I start chasing panoramic views and finally settled to shooting panorama only if the scene demands it.
After the stormy summer in 2020, I wanted to replace my current stormy Edmonton downtown view with a more vibrant summer view for the buyers, and after a few visits, it became a reality.
I have been experimenting with the Calgary downtown view for some time now. I went for the sunset, braving a swarm of mosquitoes, and photographed this panorama consisting of four stacked photographs.
Despite being photographed many times (Instagram has many Toronto downtown pictures), this place still offers beautiful pictures thanks to the ever-changing Toronto weather. Before the rainfall, I had to rush before my lens and camera became soaked in the showers.
Shot this after driving for more than four hours to get the sunrise. Cloudy morning means, lack of drama and I was disappointed for a while. But then, the nature always has something to offer. So, I moved to another position and practiced my panoramic skills.
I wanted to shoot a panorama of Lake Moraine, and it got fulfilled in 2021 late summer. Being up there at 06:30 AM after four hours drive and witness the light hit those peaks was surreal.
This view never gets old. The Banff town surrounded by mountains means the changing weather brings something new for the next photographer who is ready to capture it. I am still perfecting this view.
I usually do not stop on the roadside when I travel with my family for photography. But, when I saw the thunderstorm just when I was leaving Lacombe, I knew I had to stop and take a few pictures. The clouds were just artistic with layers — but also intimidating, letting you know what was to come (later that evening, it was a full-blown thunderstorm).
I was disappointed not to have an epic sunset at the lake. However, the subtle colors, the cold feeling (sub -15 degrees C), and the view made up for it.
I have been to the Ukrainian Village before, and I know the place close to the railway station has a couple more stories to tell. I went prepared this time, and after photographing the location many times, I knew a panoramic view of the tracks, the station, and the buildings behind them would provide a better perspective or even perhaps tell a story, and I went for it.
I have been smitten by rural photography for some time. I spotted this location during my drive with my family for a second, and I knew I have one good picture of this location. It did not disappoint after a couple of early morning visits to this spot and photographing it.
